Frequently Asked Questions

Are you accepting new clients?

Yes! I am currently accepting new clients. I provide both online therapy and in-person therapy sessions. Please see the Contact Me page for more information on how to schedule your free video consultation. You may also schedule online with the schedule online button.

What is your availability?

My current hours for conducting online therapy sessions are Tuesday through Thursday 10am - 5pm. My hours for conducting in person therapy sessions are Tuesday through Thursday 10am-5pm in my downtown Gig Harbor office. Email, phone calls, and all other contact will be within those hours as well.

Do you take insurance?

I do NOT take insurance. I will however, provide you with a receipt, called a ‘Superbill’, upon request that can be submitted by you to your insurance for your own reimbursement. The Superbill will have all the necessary information on it that the insurance will need for you to gain full or partial reimbursement depending on your specific benefit plan. Superbills are only available for people who have ‘Out of Network’ mental health benefits on their insurance plan. I am considered an ‘Out-of Network’ provider. It is your responsibility to call your insurance and understand your benefits in order to make your own decision of whether or not you would like to use insurance to help you pay for my services. There is no guarantee that your insurance will reimburse you for my services and you are responsible for the payment of therapy at the time and date of your appointment.

Note: If you are wanting to use insurance, please be aware that insurance companies require me to provide you with a mental health diagnosis that will be filed in your medical records. Because I am an 'Out of Network' provider, I am also now required by law to provide you with a Good Faith Estimate on what the cost of any given session and therefore therapy as a whole will be depending on how many sessions you partake in.

What are your fees?

Rates

  • FREE 30-minute Video Consultation;
  • $250 for 50 minute sessions (in person and through Telehealth);
  • 80 minute sessions for $300 are available upon request.

All intakes (initial sessions) will be 50 min. sessions, unless otherwise specified at time of booking the appointment.

What is the process for scheduling as a NEW client?

To schedule as a new client, you can fill out the form provided on the contact page or schedule through my online booking system for your FREE 30 min. video consultation. Once I receive an initial request, I will contact you by email to set up a complementary video consultation. I do a complementary video consultations with ALL new clients to understand what services you are looking for, give you more information about me and the process of therapy, and ultimately see if we would be a good fit in working together. Once we have done our video consultation, I will set up an initial intake with you, and send you all the necessary forms that will NEED to be filled out no later than 48 hours prior to your appointment through the client portal. If the forms are not filled out within that time frame, you will lose that slot and the intake will need to be rescheduled. All forms are electronic and will be easily sent to you and back to me through a secure client portal platform. Once all the paperwork is turned in, I will see you for our intake. This is a 50 minute session where we get to know each other and I will ask you lots of questions to understand more about who you are, what is going on in all the realms of your life that could be effecting what your experiencing, and what your goals are for our work together. At the end of this session, we will discuss how often you will want to continue to have our sessions and when it will fit best into your schedule.

Do you prescribe medication?

I do NOT prescribe medication. If you are interested in starting medication, I will work with you in our sessions to see if it would be something that may be beneficial for you and refer you to a Psychiatrist or Nurse Practitioner (ARNP), who are experts in prescribing medication for mental health.

How long does the therapy process take?

Unfortunately, this is not possible to say in a general FAQs page. Everyone’s circumstances are unique to them and the length of time counseling can take to allow you to accomplish your goals depends on your desire for personal development, your commitment, and the factors that are driving you to seek counseling in the first place.
